Postgame completion guide

100% Completion Roadmap

Village in the Shade does not use one simple global completion percentage. Full completion spans the story, Catalog, achievements, Chief Deliveries, villagers, seasonal content and Midnight collections. This roadmap arranges those tracks in a low-backtracking order.

Working definition: formal completion means the story, supported platform achievements and explicit system rewards. Broader full-content completion adds relationships, recipes, optional narrative scenes and non-achievement collections.

Recommended order

Eight phases with less backtracking

This is a planning order, not a guaranteed fastest route or a required calendar schedule.

01

Finish the story

Complete the Eight Rules, then use the Walkthrough and Endings guides for the final choice and clear-data save behavior.

02

Unlock postgame utility

Use the Miracle Whistle after story clear, discover the Hot Spring and consider the ¥50,000 Garden to Quarry Back Road as a high-value utility.

03

Clear core progression

Finish Chief Deliveries, upgrade the five applicable tools to Meteorite and build the machine, house and livestock coverage your collection needs.

04

Plan seasons and contests

Keep seasonal crops, festival actions, branded products and High-Quality Delivery inputs moving. Missed seasonal content should be checked against its owning guide.

05

Complete relationships

Befriend all eligible villagers, fulfill ordinary Requests and learn relationship recipes without confusing a completed Request counter with every unique request.

06

Finish Midnight collections

Work through Lost Books, Night Furniture, Machine Parts, Old Mouse Coins, Fox Shrine offerings and Okami Pool progression as their access opens.

07

Clean the Catalog

Use in-game entry numbers and category tabs to route the final gaps. Prioritize variants, processed goods, shop stock, seasonal items and special rewards.

08

Close achievement grinds

Finish lifetime shipping, crop, forage, animal, hunting, crafting, processing, cooking, clinic and Magatama counters on supported platforms.

Mode-aware planning

Shade and Sunshine are different completion universes

Do not carry horror-mode requirements into the safe mode without a canonical record.

Village in the Shade

2,428 Catalog entries

This is the current platform achievement context. Midnight anomalies, cursed items, Fox Shrine progression, Okami Pool and Night Furniture belong here when their records apply.

The repository currently models 52 achievement records. Switch players should treat this as a supported-platform track, not a universal trophy requirement.

Village in the Sunshine

2,286 Catalog entries

Sunshine has a smaller current Catalog snapshot because some Midnight and cursed-content entries are unavailable. Follow the mode-specific systems that are available rather than forcing Shade-only tracks.

The two totals must not be added together, and the announced September 29 Furniture Catalog feature is not part of either current live total.

Formal platform track

Achievement completion without platform confusion

The repository records exact counters and semantics. This list is a summary, not a replacement for the individual achievement guide.

Milestones and systems

Catalog milestones are 300, 500, 1,000 and full Catalog. Other explicit rewards include all Chief Deliveries, all Fox Shrine offerings, Rain Whistle, Hot Spring, Machine Parts repair and Meteorite upgrades.

Long grinds

  • Farm Worker: 10,000 crops
  • Living off the Land: 500 forageables
  • Stock Farmer: 1,000 animal products
  • Kindness to Animals: 500 interactions
  • Trapper: 100 trapped animals

Separate counters

Lifetime shipment value is not wallet balance. Requests are completed Requests, not necessarily unique IDs. Wild-bird drops are not Bird Bath output. Clinic wakeups are achievement-only tasks, not a universal lifestyle goal.

Long-grind targets

Close the counters deliberately

These targets are sourced from the current achievement records. They are not Catalog requirements unless a separate record says so.

Long grind achievement targets
AchievementTargetSemantic boundary
Farm Worker10,000 cropsHarvest 10,000 crops; this is not a planted-tile count.
Living off the Land500 forageablesGather 500 forageables.
Stock Farmer1,000 animal productsCollect 1,000 animal products.
Kindness to Animals500 interactionsInteract with animals 500 times. The official text does not specify which individual actions count.
Trapper100 trapped animalsTrap 100 animals; keep this separate from the bow-hunt achievement.
Builder500 workbench craftsCraft 500 times at a workbench. This is distinct from the 50-structures Builder.
Do Process100 usesUse a processor 100 times.
Kitchen Duty100 cooking actionsCook 100 times.

Magatama Magnate500 Magatama pickupsPick up 500 Magatama; this is a pickup total, not necessarily 500 held at once.
Birdwatcher100 bird dropsPick up 100 items dropped by wild birds.
As You Wish100 villager requestsGrant 100 ordinary villager requests. Do not automatically add Helping Tickets or Chief Delivery groups.
Filthy Rich10,000,000 yen shippedReach ¥10,000,000 in total shipment value, not ¥10,000,000 held in the wallet.

Seasonal and weather checks

Do it when the source is available

Calendar and weather gates are reasons to plan ahead, not proof that content is permanently missable.

Spring

Badminton achievement and Spring crops, flowers, forage and Fox Shrine sequence.

Summer

Festival purchases, Chief Delivery access and summer crop, fish and shop rotations.

Autumn

Baked Sweet Potato achievement, autumn sources and quality delivery preparation.

Winter

Mochi achievement, winter crops and flowers, Snow content and late-year cleanup.

Weather-gated content

Rain maps to Karakasa and Lost Book No. 43. Thunderstorm maps to Fujin & Raijin, and Snow maps to Yuki-onna. Use the Weather guide for exact boundaries. Do not substitute Rain for Thunderstorm.

Future update boundary

The announced September 29, 2026 update can block certain feature-unlock events on Thunderstorm days, including Farmland Expansion and Furniture Catalog. It is not part of the current live completion total.

Postgame cleanup

What is safe to leave until later

Postgame is a useful completion phase, but not every narrative scene is guaranteed to remain recoverable.

High-value postgame work

  • Catalog late rewards, random sources and category gaps.
  • Collect Lost Books and finish Midnight Furniture routes.
  • Complete Machine Parts, Old Mouse Coins, Fox Shrine and Okami Pool progression.
  • Use the Miracle Whistle and Back Road to make repeated cleanup more efficient.

Optional narrative completion

Seeing both endings and branch-specific dialogue can be a worthwhile broader goal, but the current achievement and collection records do not make both endings a universal Platinum or Catalog requirement. Use Endings for the exact choices.

The Old Mouse Coins target is 30 cumulative coins, not 30 unique map collectibles. Nushi Scale count and exact Okami Pool stage totals remain unresolved.

Final-gap troubleshooting

Common completion blockers

Identify the owning system before repeating a farm loop.

A shop item is still progression-locked: check story, Chief Deliveries and shop rotation.
A branded product is missing: follow contest branding and High-Quality Delivery dependencies.
A seasonal reward was missed: wait for its next supported season instead of declaring it permanently lost.
A weather anomaly did not appear: verify the exact Rain, Thunderstorm or Snow state and Midnight timing.
A furniture variant is owned but not registered: check the Catalog entry and color or dye variant separately.
A recipe is learned but a dish is missing: knowledge and Catalog registration are separate completion ideas.
The wallet is full but a shipping milestone is missing: check lifetime shipment value, not current balance.
A Bird Bath is not producing the grind target: wild-bird drops and Bird Bath output are separate.
A final Catalog gap is unknown: search by in-game entry number, then open the specialist authority guide.

Do not use a fake fastest route or hour estimate. Completion pace depends on mode, calendar, shop rotation, story state and which records are already registered.

FAQ

Completion roadmap questions

The master roadmap stays concise while specialist pages own detailed requirements.

Is there one official 100% completion percentage?

No single official global percentage is documented in the current repository. This page organizes independent completion tracks instead of inventing a weighted total.

Can I complete the Catalog after the ending?

Yes. The current Catalog guide treats postgame as a practical cleanup phase for late rewards, random sources and remaining category gaps.

How many Catalog entries and achievements are there?

The current canonical snapshots are 2,428 Shade entries and 2,286 Sunshine entries. The repository contains 52 platform achievement records.

Do I need both endings for completion?

Both endings are an optional narrative goal unless an exact current achievement or collection record requires both. Do not label one ending Good or True unless the Endings guide does so.

What should I do first after finishing the story?

Save clear data, use the postgame utilities that matter to your route, then finish Chief Deliveries and permanent progression before seasonal, Midnight and Catalog cleanup.

Do Switch players need all 52 trophies?

No. The 52-record platform achievement set applies to supported trophy or achievement platforms. Switch versions do not have platform trophies, so keep in-game completion separate.

Do I need every villager at Stage 6?

The current achievement says to befriend all villagers, while the Friendship system documents six stages. The exact achievement threshold is not asserted as Stage 6 for every character.

Are all Midnight systems required in Village in the Sunshine?

No. Mode applicability matters. Night and Midnight tracks should not be required for Sunshine players where that content is unavailable; Sunshine also has its own smaller Catalog snapshot.

Use the Year 2+ Progression guide when late crop cleanup is year-gated versus Contest, delivery, building or postgame-gated.

For the detailed supernatural-object and Midnight collectible track, open Cursed Objects & Midnight Items.

Use Milestone Awards & Rewards for long-term counter checkpoints and Wild Birds & Bird Drops for the 20/100 collected-item boundary. Use Foraging & Wild Plants for seasonal gathering and the Crops Guide & Crop Database for normal crop records without replacing this overall completion sequence.
