Midnight Offering Guide

Village in the Shade Fox Shrine Offerings Guide

During Midnight exploration, follow the glowing fox to the Fox Shrine and offer the requested seasonal items. The shrine uses a four-round progression: each completed round adds another item category, and the sequence can continue into later seasons if you start late.

Completing shrine offerings rewards Fox Fried Tofu, 狐の油揚げ, which increases maximum Stamina.

English item and system names currently follow the site's Japanese-release terminology and may be updated after the official English localization can be verified on October 27, 2026.

Fox Shrine — Short Answer

Rounds

4

Round 1

Foraged plants

Round 4

Forage + vegetables + flowers + fish

Must everything be submitted in one night? No. Progress persists across visits. Main reward: Fox Fried Tofu → maximum Stamina. Achievement: complete all Fox Shrine offerings.

Offering Round Matters More Than Season

The shrine does not permanently assign “Spring = first offering” and “Winter = fourth offering.” Required categories expand based on how many shrine offerings you have already completed. If your first offering happens in Summer, Summer is Round 1, Autumn is Round 2, Winter is Round 3 and the following Spring is Round 4.

Round 2

Foraged plants + vegetables

Round 3

Foraged plants + vegetables + flowers

Round 4

Shifted sequence proof

Spring can be Round 4

This verified example is why season and round must not be hard-coded together.

If you start later in the year, the remaining rounds continue into later seasons rather than forcing a permanent failure. Current research does not provide all 16 season × round combinations, so this guide does not build a universal calculator.

Offering Progress Is Saved

Current guide data supports progress persisting across Midnight visits. You can submit part of the requested list, leave, and continue on a later visit. You do not need to finish every item in one night.

What to save before a season

Keep the exact seasonal items for your current round instead of selling every copy. The categories change by round, so check whether you are gathering forage, vegetables, flowers or fish before preparing a list.

Rewards

Fox Fried Tofu and maximum Stamina

The reward is a stamina upgrade, not a health upgrade.

狐の油揚げ

Fox Fried Tofu

Use Fox Fried Tofu to increase maximum Stamina by one gauge segment. Current research supports the reward effect, but this page does not assert an unverified total number of Tofu rewards.

Stamina is not HP

Fox Fried Tofu increases maximum Stamina / 元気. Nushi's Scale from Okami-buchi increases maximum HP / 体力. These are separate progression systems.

Other rewards and completion

Scarecrows, ornament and achievement boundaries

Only the reward details supported by current evidence are stated as facts.

Seasonal Scarecrows

Current research supports seasonal Scarecrow rewards associated with completing offering categories, but the exact category-by-category reward timing is not published here as a fixed table.

狛狐の置物

A final Komainu Fox Ornament claim remains an open research question; it is not presented as a guaranteed final reward in this version.

All four rounds

Complete all four offering rounds to complete the Fox Shrine event and unlock Divinely Blessed (御利益). This is not the 80-node Shrine Skills tree.

Troubleshooting

Why can't I finish the offering?

You are expecting the wrong category set for your current round.
You are using the fixed Spring = Round 1 assumption.
Midnight exploration is not unlocked yet.
You have not followed the glowing fox to the shrine.
You are trying to submit everything in one night unnecessarily.
You are missing a season-specific item for the current round.
Flowers appear from Round 3, not automatically in Autumn.
Fish appear in Round 4, not automatically in Winter.

If your list does not match the common Spring → Summer → Autumn → Winter example, check which offering round you are actually on. The event is recoverable across later seasons and is not currently treated as permanently missable. See Missables for the broader evidence boundary.

System boundaries

Keep the Fox Shrine separate

These three systems use related language but are not interchangeable.

Magatama

A separate resource/currency system. Fox Shrine offerings do not claim to consume Magatama.
