Missables & Save Warnings
Village in the Shade Missables Guide
Not everything that is time-limited is permanently missable. Some choices cannot be changed, while seasonal events and requests may simply require waiting for another cycle.
Permanent
Choices you cannot change
Mode, player naming and certain animal or crop-brand naming decisions need care before confirmation.
This cycle
Opportunities you can miss now
Seasonal crops, festivals and ordinary posted requests can pass before they return or refresh.
Evidence boundary
Not proven permanent
Helping Tickets, Lost Books as a collection and night anomalies are not labeled permanently lost without stronger proof.
Permanent choices
Confirm these before you commit
These are naming or setup choices, not a claim that the whole save becomes permanently locked.
A fixed name is not the same as a permanently unavailable species, crop or reward. This page only marks the documented naming decision as irreversible.
Before the Final Ending Choice
Keep a pre-choice save if you want to view both
The documented choices are 一緒に帰ろ and ここに残る. Current story research says both lead into the same playable postgame. If you want to see both without replaying the full finale, preserve a save from before the choice and avoid overwriting it after viewing the first result.
This is save-state advice, not a claim that the postgame world is permanently locked. See both ending choices and save advice and the full Rule I–VIII walkthrough.
Cycle-limited content
Missing a cycle is not the same as losing it forever
Use the narrowest classification supported by the current evidence.
System notes
What the evidence says about common missable questions
Keep separate systems separate; an expiration window is not proof of a unique permanent reward.
Seasonal crops
Missing a harvest opportunity usually means waiting for the next appropriate season. The Crops Database and Farming Guide cover the seasonal route; the Greenhouse reduces some outdoor season restrictions but does not make every opportunity permanently safe.
Lost Books
There are 55 numbered books, including entries tied to season, weather, anomaly, area or postgame conditions. Condition-gated is not the same as permanently missable. Use the Lost Books guide for the current location and trigger boundary.
Requests
Ordinary bulletin-board requests can expire after a limited completion window. Helping Tickets are a separate progression system, and the Village Chief Delivery Catalog is not treated as expiring without evidence. See Requests.
Festivals and night events
Festival dates and night conditions matter for the current cycle. Current sources do not prove that festival participation or night anomalies generally disappear forever; the repeatable Cow Ghost is a useful counterexample. See Festivals and Night Anomalies.
Before progressing
A safe, static checklist
These are sensible checks, not mandatory requirements for finishing the game.
There is no claim here that every book, festival reward, Helping Ticket, anomaly or collectible must be completed before the finale.
FAQ
Missables questions
Are there permanently missable things in Village in the Shade?
Yes. Current released-game research supports several irreversible choices, including the game mode, player name, livestock names and crop brand names. Many seasonal or timed opportunities are different: missing one cycle does not prove permanent loss.
Can I see both ending choices?
Yes, but keep a save from before the final choice if you want to view both without replaying more progression. Avoid overwriting that safe pre-choice state after viewing the first result; the current story data says both choices lead to the same playable postgame.
Are Festivals permanently missable?
Current evidence indicates that missing a festival usually means missing that year's occurrence rather than losing the event permanently. Individual rewards or outcomes are not all verified as infinitely repeatable.
Are Lost Books missable?
Some books require a season, weather, anomaly, area or postgame condition, but the 55-book collection should not be described as permanently missable as a whole. The exact trigger matrix is still incomplete.
Do Requests expire?
Ordinary bulletin-board requests can be time-limited, with current research describing typical windows of roughly five to seven days. That does not prove the reward is permanently unavailable.
Can Helping Tickets expire forever?
Current sources do not clearly support treating Helping Tickets as permanently missable. They have progression timing, but no strong permanent-expiration rule is published here.
Is there a point of no return?
This guide does not label a single point of no return without stronger evidence. It does flag irreversible naming and mode choices plus save-state care around the final ending choice.
