Midnight Exploration Quick Rules
Midnight exploration unlocks through early story progression after receiving the relevant helping-ticket story item and obtaining the Ghost Shelf. Japanese walkthroughs place the earliest unlock around mid-to-late Spring of Year 1, but progression is the safer trigger to follow.
Ends at 06:00
Midnight exploration ends at 06:00 and the player is returned home.
Many End Around 05:00
Current Japanese guide data reports that many active anomalies disappear around 05:00.
Bring a Flashlight
A flashlight is an important night-exploration tool and is directly relevant to some anomaly mechanics.
Dog Call Unavailable
The Dog Call cannot be used during midnight exploration.

Control the Night
Not every anomaly can be forced, and not every night event is repeatable. The finder marks only documented forced routes rather than guessing at universal summon mechanics.
Current Japanese guide data documents Purifying Salt placed on the Ghost Shelf as a way to prevent the midnight wake-up. This does not claim to disable every anomaly permanently.
Night control item
Purifying Salt + Ghost Shelf
Some encounters can be deliberately summoned with specific wooden tags placed on the Ghost Shelf. This is not evidence that all anomalies can be summoned.
Village in the Sunshine
Village in the Sunshine is the current Western-facing name for the safer option. Earlier materials referred to it as Peaceful Life Mode.
Village in the Sunshine prevents rule-breaking, so the anomaly content documented on this page mainly applies to standard play. This does not claim that the entire game has no scary imagery.

Use the finder above for a specific weather, location or tool question.
Midnight exploration unlocks through early story progression connected to the helping-ticket sequence and the Ghost Shelf. Exact calendar timing can vary with progression.
Some are random midnight encounters, while others require specific weather, locations, progression or items.
Some encounters can be deliberately summoned with specific wooden tags placed on the Ghost Shelf. Hyakume and Tengu are documented examples; not all anomalies can be summoned.
Place Purifying Salt on the Ghost Shelf to prevent the midnight wake-up, according to current Japanese guide data.
No. Current Japanese guide data ties Yuki-onna specifically to snowy nights rather than every winter midnight.
Older guide data listed autumn, but the latest research value is Summer onward. This guide uses the newer value.
Where to Go Next
Move from anomaly triggers into fishing, village rules or the safer play mode.
