Buildings & Farm Expansion
Building Placement, Sizes & Limits Guide
Building limits, animal capacity and physical footprint are separate rules. A Fish Pond has a placement limit and fish capacity; an upgraded Coop has animal capacity and a tile footprint. This guide owns those placement questions while Buildings remains the authority for construction costs and unlock progression.
Answer first
Building size and limit table
Stable IDs and shared placement records keep footprint, maximum placed and functional capacity from being merged.
| Structure | Footprint | Max placed | Capacity | Move / remove | Placement area |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Anvil | 3×2 tiles | 3 | — | Construction service | Current farm plots |
| Chicken Coop | 6×7 tiles | 4 | 8 animals | Construction service | Current farm plots |
| Small Livestock Barn | 12×9 tiles | 4 | 4 animals | Construction service | Current farm plots |
| Livestock Barn Upgrade | — | — | 8 animals | — | Current farm plots |
| Silo | 3×3 tiles | 1 | 999 slots | — | Current farm plots |
| Storage Barn | 5×4 tiles | 2 | — | — | Current farm plots |
| Well | 2×2 tiles | 3 | — | Construction service | Current farm plots |
| Fish Pond | 3×3 tiles | 3 | 10 fish | — | Current farm plots |

Chicken Coop
Base versus renovated Coop
The current construction record confirms the public 6×7 footprint, 8-bird capacity and maximum 4. The source names the construction listing and renovation separately, so this page does not copy renovated values onto an invented base record.
Footprint
6×7 tiles
Capacity
8 birds
Max coops
4
Renovation: ¥4,000 and 3 days, with material quantities 120 / 30 / 10. Material names are intentionally taken from the construction dataset, not guessed from icons.

Large-animal housing stays separate
The Small Livestock Barn is 12×9 tiles, holds 4 animals and lists a maximum of 4. Its upgraded record holds 8 animals, but upgraded footprint and maximum are unresolved.
Cow, Goat, Pig, Sheep, Cashmere Goat and Horse progression remain on Livestock and Livestock Unlocks. Do not infer Barn capacity from screenshots or from animal totals.
Open Livestock Unlocks →Fish Ponds
10 fish versus 30 fish
Fish capacity is not tile area.
Small Pond
3 max · 10 fish
Large Pond
30 fish · max —
Small Fish Ponds are built through Kisuke / Tree Construction. The Large Fish Pond follows Fish Chief Delivery completion and remodel progression. Large Pond footprint, global limit and whether the three-pond cap is shared remain unresolved.
Greenhouse & functional buildings
Special does not mean movable
Greenhouse, Bird Bath, Doghouse and Horse Stable are functional records, not decorative furniture.
The Greenhouse is a separate growing environment and is not counted as a farm plot. Its footprint, move rule and fixed/flexible location remain unresolved. Bird Bath footprint and maximum are also not independently verified. Doghouse is one structure with a 2×3 record and documented service-handling notes.
Machines & utilities
Footprint, effect range and batch capacity are different
An upgraded processor can accept up to three materials without proving that three machines may be placed. Likewise, a Sprinkler's coverage is not its physical footprint.

Sprinklers
Small, Normal and Enhanced coverage are radius 1 / 3×3, radius 2 / 5×5 and radius 3 / 7×7. Those effect zones do not turn into building footprints.
Sprinkler authority →Workbench adjacency
Workbench storage access uses surrounding 8 tiles. This is a functional adjacency rule, not a universal placement radius.
Storage Boxes →Seasonal Scarecrow
The 5×5 seasonal effect area is separate from the one-tile physical object footprint.
Scarecrow guide →Mobility
Furniture is not construction
Some garden decorations can be stored at any time and moved. That direct-pickup behavior does not propagate to Coops, Barns, Fish Ponds, Greenhouse or House.
Construction buildings may use Kisuke's relocation or removal service when their record supports it. Exact demolition refunds, relocation cost and relocation time are not generalized here.
Other placeables
Trees, traps and attached tools
Not every placed thing belongs to the farm-building system.
Decorative trees can follow furniture storage rules, while Fruit Trees and resource trees follow growth and removal systems. A Sap Collector attaches to compatible mature trees. Hunting traps use the hunting-area scope, with a current structured rule of up to 3 placed and at most 1 of the same type in an area.
Farm layout
Plan for space without inventing a perfect grid
Use practical zones, then verify the placement prompt in your current version.
Reserve rectangles
Keep large clear rectangles for the 6×7 Coop and 12×9 starter Barn records.
Separate systems
Leave crop, Paddy and orchard areas clear where their own growth rules matter; exact field and fence overlap behavior remains unresolved.
Expand before crowding
The current farm is 3 plots. Plot 2 is 29×27; Plot 3 dimensions remain unknown. The announced 2026-09-29 expansion is not part of today's count.
Dense objects can interfere with special mechanics such as Cursed Crop growth, but that does not establish a universal one- or two-tile building clearance rule. See Cursed Crops, Paddy Farming and Farm Expansion for their owning rules.
FAQ
Placement questions
Can you move buildings?
Some structures have documented construction-service relocation or removal handling, but the current data does not support a universal move-any-building rule.
How large is the Chicken Coop?
The canonical construction listing records a 6×7 tile Chicken Coop footprint and capacity for 8 poultry. The base-versus-renovation naming remains an explicit source reconciliation note.
How many Chicken Coops can you build?
The current construction record lists a maximum of 4.
How many Fish Ponds can you build?
The Small Fish Pond record lists a maximum of 3. The Large Fish Pond capacity is 30 fish, but its separate maximum and footprint are unresolved.
Does upgrading a machine increase its placement limit?
No placement-count increase is inferred from an upgrade that allows up to 3 processing materials. Batch capacity and physical machine count are separate fields.
Can buildings be placed on expanded farmland?
The current farm has the starting garden plus Plot 2 and Plot 3. Plot-specific building compatibility is not fully verified; use the expansion guide for current land status.
Can traps be placed in the garden?
Trap limits belong to hunting areas and are not part of the home-garden building count.
