Livestock Unlock Guide
Village in the Shade Livestock Unlocks Guide
Several animals are not available from the start. Goat, Pig, Turkey and Cashmere Goat are tied to Livestock Contest progression, while Horse follows a separate building-based unlock.
Livestock Unlocks — Short Answer
Goat
Participate in a Livestock Contest; the result does not need to be A or S Rank.
Pig
Earn A Rank or higher in a Livestock Contest, then wait for Chinana's mail.
Turkey
Earn S Rank with a Chicken in the Livestock Contest.
Cashmere Goat
Current patched guidance requires two Livestock S-Rank results.
Horse
Build the Livestock Barn.
Goat, Pig, Turkey and Cashmere Goat use Livestock Contest progression. Horse does not use the same unlock path.
English animal and system terminology is provisional until the official Western localization can be verified after October 27, 2026.
The Unlock Loop
Requirement → Chinana mail → Street Vendor
Contest-gated animals do not appear in your inventory automatically. After the condition is met, check for Chinana's progression mail, then visit the vendor.
01
Meet the condition
Enter the correct contest division or build the required barn, depending on the animal.
02
Check Chinana mail
Goat, Pig, Cashmere Goat and Horse availability uses the documented Chinana mail step.
03
Visit the Street Vendor
Chinana's Street Vendor is open 07:00–17:00 and closed Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

Mood must be maximum for the rank formula
This table applies to the Livestock division only. Horse has its own division and is intentionally not included.
Cow Ghost warning
If an animal is stuck below maximum Mood even at high Affection, check whether the Cow Ghost is affecting the barn. It can block a Livestock S Rank.
Review Night AnomaliesHorse boundary
Horse uses a separate Horse Contest division later for branding. This page does not apply the Livestock numeric thresholds to Horse.

Unlocking an animal is not the same as branding it
Unlocking lets you buy and raise the animal. Contest success later creates the branded animal or branded products.
Pig example
Livestock Contest A+ → unlock Pig. Later, Pig Livestock Contest S → brand Pig → collect branded Truffle.
Cashmere example
Two Livestock S results → unlock Cashmere Goat. Later, brand Cashmere Goat → collect branded Cashmere.
Horse example
Build Livestock Barn → unlock Horse. Later, Horse Contest S Rank → branded Horse → branded Horse Tail.
Greenhouse Relevance
Which livestock unlocks matter for the Greenhouse?
These are the branded products and fibers from the canonical High-Quality Goods category. This page does not repeat the full Greenhouse checklist.
Cow → Milk
Branded Milk ×5
Chicken → Egg
Branded Egg ×5
Pig → Truffle
Branded Truffle ×5
Sheep → Wool
Branded Wool ×5
Cashmere Goat → Cashmere
Branded Cashmere ×3
Horse → Horse Tail
Branded Horse Tail ×5
Pig, Cashmere Goat and Horse are especially relevant because their products require progression before branding. Other required outputs are covered by the main Livestock guide.
Still Missing?
Why is the animal not available yet?
Use the exact condition first, then check the mail and shop schedule.
Chinana's fashion stock rotation should not be generalized into random animal unlock rotation. The animal availability condition is the progression rule.
FAQ
Livestock unlock questions
How do I unlock Goat?
Participate in a Livestock Contest. Your rank does not matter. Chinana then sends mail and Goat becomes available through the Street Vendor.
How do I unlock Pig?
Earn A Rank or higher in a Livestock Contest, then follow the Chinana mail progression.
How do I unlock Turkey?
Earn S Rank with Chicken in the Livestock Contest. The requirement is Chicken-specific; any Livestock S Rank is not enough.
How do I unlock Cashmere Goat?
Earn two Livestock S-Rank results. Earlier versions had an unlock bug on some platforms, so update the game if Cashmere Goat does not appear after meeting the requirement.
How do I unlock Horse?
Build the Livestock Barn. Horse availability is tied to that building progression, not to winning a Livestock Contest.
What do I need for Livestock Contest S Rank?
For the Livestock division, Mood must be at maximum and Affection must be 5. With maximum Mood, Affection 0–1 gives B, 2–4 gives A and 5 gives S.
Is Horse ranked with the same Livestock formula?
No numeric Horse threshold is assumed here. Horse has its own Contest division, and the initial Horse unlock is separate from later Horse branding.
