Random seasonal crop
Mud Seed follows the season when it is planted
The player does not select the result.
Field crops only
Mud Seed selects a random eligible field crop from the current season. It does not become a flower, rice or another paddy-field crop. Normal crop growth, plot environments and growth times remain owned by the Crops guide.
Cursed is a harvest chance
If the cursed conversion does not happen, the plant remains the corresponding normal crop. No fixed cursed percentage or every-N-seeds pattern is established.

Leave a 5×5 clear area
Center the Mud Seed with two empty tiles in every direction. Giant crops can expand into surrounding space and push out nearby crops.
Remove obstacles before harvest day
Sprinklers, platforms and other placed objects in the surrounding area can block giant growth. Keep the full space clear by the day before the crop becomes harvestable.

Winter is efficient for quantity
Winter currently has the smallest field pool.
The current canonical crop table contains 3 Winter field crops, making Winter a practical season when the goal is simply to collect Cursed Crops. This is a qualitative efficiency recommendation, not a probability multiplier.
Watering and seasons
Sprinklers can water; space still matters
Ordinary growth and giant targeting have different constraints.
Sprinklers can water Mud Seed crops during growth, but placed objects in the giant 5×5 area may interfere with transformation. Do not plant so late that a random result cannot finish before the season changes.
Okami Pool progression
Cursed Crops are offerings, not ordinary processing inputs
This is why the cursed variants matter.
Throw Cursed Crops into Okami Pool as part of the cursed offering family. Cursed Fish belong to the same broader offering system. Pool progression can award Nushi Scale, which increases maximum HP; later progression can lead to Rain Whistle, whose exact milestone remains owned by the Whistles guide.
Boundaries
Greenhouse and Seasonal Scarecrow behavior remains unresolved
Do not turn normal crop rules into Mud Seed guarantees.
Greenhouse
The repository does not establish whether Mud Seed works inside the Greenhouse or which season pool it would use there. Use the Greenhouse guide for greenhouse-owned mechanics.
Seasonal Scarecrow
It is not established whether a Seasonal Scarecrow changes a Mud Seed's random outcome pool. Do not treat the scarecrow as a season override.

Yes. Mud Seed is plantable year-round, but its result must finish within the current season.
