Method

How to catch Cursed Fish

The useful checklist is short because the key restriction is time of day.

1.Reach the Midnight fishing context through nighttime exploration.
2.Choose the major spot listed for the target record.
3.Fish during Midnight; Night is not the same time window.
4.Check the catch against the Cursed Fish name and Japanese record before selling or offering it.

No special rod, fishing skill, level gate or exact catch percentage is established in the current canonical data. Keep trying if a rare catch does not appear.

Cursed Fish vs normal fish

Cursed Fish are separate records. Do not inherit a normal species' season, time, location or price. For example, Cursed Ayu is a year-round Midnight record at Deep Mountain even when the normal Ayu entry has different conditions.

Cursed Fish vs Nushi

The database contains 6 Cursed Fish and 6 Nushi/albino variants. Nushi are the rare white-fish layer; Cursed Fish belong to the Midnight and cursed-offering layer.

See the Nushi Fish Guide

Okami-buchi

Cursed offerings and Nushi's Scale

Current Japanese guides associate cursed items, including cursed fish and crops, with offerings at Okami-buchi.

Offer cursed items at Okami-buchi when you are following the cursed-resource progression. A resulting Nushi's Scale is reported to increase maximum HP. This guide does not invent an offering count or a guaranteed reward sequence.

Rain Whistle

Current Japanese research places the Rain Whistle at a later Okami-buchi milestone, reported as the sixth summon in one guide. Its reported effect is making rain more likely the following day, not guaranteeing rain.

White Bait is not established as a Cursed Fish requirement. See the White Bait guide for its recipe and the separate rare-fish evidence boundary.

Troubleshooting

Why is a Cursed Fish not appearing?

You are fishing at Night instead of Midnight.
You are at the wrong major spot for that record.
You are checking the normal fish season instead of the Cursed Fish record.
You are confusing a Cursed Fish with a Nushi/albino fish.
You are treating White Bait as mandatory even though no requirement is established.
You are expecting an exact published catch percentage; current data does not provide one.
