Use Box Traps and Snare Traps alongside the Hunting License system. Choose the right target, place the trap in a hunting area, and follow the passive or active capture method that the trap supports.

Both traps are sold by the Hunter Lodge. The Crab Pot costs ¥500 but is a fishing tool used at fishing spots, not one of these animal traps.

How Hunting Traps Work
Traps support the hunting system. They do not bypass the license or certificate loop.
1 · Prepare
Get the license and trap
Buy the target animal's Hunting License, then choose Box Trap or Snare Trap from the Hunter Lodge.
2 · Place
Use a hunting area
Place the trap in a valid hunting area or mountain hunting zone. Exact zone IDs and numeric placement limits are not published.
3 · Complete
Check or lead
Check a Box Trap the next day for a possible catch, or lead Boar and Deer into a Snare Trap. Release a caught animal to obtain its Hunting Certificate.

Troubleshooting
Common Trap Problems
Check the system boundary before assuming a missing catch is a bug.
Nothing is caught
Check the trap and target pairing, valid hunting area, correct license and optional Hunting Bait. Bait raises chance, not certainty.
Rabbit is not appearing
Rabbit belongs to the Box Trap list. Snare Trap is not a confirmed Rabbit target.
Bear is nearby
Do not treat Box Trap as a Bear capture device. Use the broad Hunting Guide for Bear combat and license guidance.
Boar or Deer attacks
Snare Trap supports an active lead-or-drive technique. Place it carefully and keep enough distance to avoid an attack.
Trap shop is closed
Hunter Lodge is closed Monday and Tuesday. Plan purchases and certificate turn-ins for another day.
