Crafting and Processing Guide

Village in the Shade Furnace Guide

The Furnace turns Quarry materials and Clay into the metal, glass and brick that unlock later construction and tool loops. This page keeps the practical answers together: unlock path, exact Workbench recipe, one-fuel rule, six outputs, and the Upgraded Furnace boundary.

Furnace - Short Answer

Build recipe

Stone x10 + Copper Ore x10

Cycle

12 hours

Fuel

Coal x1 OR Charcoal x1

Outputs

6 documented families · ¥45 base sell

The Furnace is a story-blueprint machine from the early Quarry route, not a Shrine skill. It is the bridge between raw materials and the site's ingots, Glass Rods and Bricks.

Unlock and build

How to get the Furnace

The exact day remains open; the progression gate is the useful part.

01

Reach the Quarry

Continue the early story until the Quarry blueprint event is available.

02

Use the Workbench

Spend Stone x10 and Copper Ore x10. This is ordinary Copper Ore, not a Copper Ingot.

03

Start a material run

Place one supported input and choose Coal or Charcoal. The operation completes after 12 hours.

The current evidence does not support a fixed calendar date for the Quarry blueprint, so this guide does not hardcode one.

Fuel rule

One operation, one accepted fuel

Coal and Charcoal are separate alternatives. Do not place both into the same Furnace calculation.

Choose one

Coal x1 or Charcoal x1

Every row below uses exactly one of these fuel options. The Upgraded Furnace keeps the same fuel rule.

Fuel planning

Coal x1

Accepted per operation

Charcoal x1

Accepted per operation

Charcoal is a separate processed material from the Charcoal Kiln. The broader processing database owns that machine route.

Six outputs

What the Furnace makes

Each row is five input materials, one accepted fuel and a 12-hour cycle.

Iron Ingot

Output x1

¥130

Meteorite Ingot

Sell values are output values, not a full profit calculation. They do not subtract raw materials, fuel or machine construction.

Glass Fragments and Clay also come from Quarry stone. For exact node behavior, route planning and the rest of the resource table, open the Mining Guide and Resources Database.

Upgraded Furnace

More inputs per cycle, not a shorter cycle

The upgrade changes batch capacity while preserving the documented timing boundary.

Shrine skill

Upgraded Furnace

Up to 3 materials

The upgrade accepts up to three materials at once. That is a capacity change, not evidence that a single operation finishes three times faster.

Shrine cost

  • Standard Magatama x1
  • Twin Magatama x2
  • Child Magatama x1
  • Bronze Mirror x3

Workbench recipe

¥97 sell value

  • Furnace x1
  • Heavy Stone x10
  • Iron Ore x10

The recipe uses Iron Ore x10, not Iron Ingots. Exact upgrade repair stage remains unresolved.

FAQ

Furnace questions

How do I unlock the Furnace?

The Furnace blueprint comes from early Quarry story progression. The current canonical record does not justify a fixed calendar day.

What does the Furnace cost to build?

The Workbench recipe is Stone x10 and Copper Ore x10. Copper Ore is the raw material; do not substitute Copper Ingots.

Does the Furnace need fuel?

Yes. Each operation needs Coal x1 or Charcoal x1. Choose one fuel, not both.

How long does the Furnace take?

Each documented Furnace output takes 12 hours.

What does the Upgraded Furnace change?

It accepts up to three materials at once. The current evidence does not establish a faster cycle, so keep the 12-hour timing.

How many Glass Fragments make the Greenhouse Glass Rod requirement?

The Greenhouse requires 150 Glass Rods. At five Glass Fragments per Glass Rod, that is 750 Glass Fragments.

Can I use the Furnace for Meteorite tools?

Yes. Meteorite x5 plus one accepted fuel makes one Meteorite Ingot in 12 hours. Meteorite Ingots feed the five eligible tool chains.

Where do I get Furnace ores?

The documented Quarry checkpoints are Copper Ore B21F+, Iron Ore B41F+, Gold Ore B81F+ and Meteorite B91F+. Use the Mining guide for the full route.
