Getting Started & Progression

Daily & Weekly Checklist

You do not need to complete the same long checklist every day. Check systems with real timers or limits first: crops that need water, ready livestock products, daily conversations, the week's gifts, completed processors, shipping and seasonal opportunities. Then choose the activity that fits your current goal.

Routine

Morning — Must Check

Morning is a status check, not a command to perform every action regardless of conditions.

Must checkWhen ready

Harvest crops that are ready

Do not turn readiness into a fixed harvest date.

Must checkDaily

Water outdoor field crops only when they need manual watering

Rain can water ordinary outdoor fields. Paddy watering and Greenhouse watering are separate unresolved/owned rules.

Collect animal products when ready

Production intervals differ by animal; do not treat every animal as daily.

Collect and refill processors when a batch is complete

Furnace is 12 hours; other machines remain recipe-specific rather than universally daily.

Check the Shipping Box settlement

Items deposited for shipment settle next morning, not immediately.

Daytime — Progression Priority

Use the daytime window for relationship progress and purchases before a relevant facility closes.

Talk once to villagers whose Friendship you are raising

Not every villager is mandatory every day.

Use remaining normal gift opportunities

Two normal gifts per character per game week, with one normal gift per day.

Plan purchases around this week's shop closures

Closure days are not weekly resets, and open shops can still have seasonal or progression-locked stock.

Routine

Afternoon / Evening — Goal-Based

Choose one useful goal. Fishing, mining, gathering and hunting are optional, not mandatory daily chores.

OptionalDaily

Choose one goal: fishing, mining, gathering, hunting or money-making

These are flexible choices, not a requirement to do everything every day.

Before day ends

Deposit, refill and prepare

Start work that should continue overnight, then deposit items intended for shipment.

Shipping

Place intended items in the Shipping Box. The canonical settlement is next morning, so do not describe a sale as immediate.

Shipping Guide →

Processors

Refill a machine when its current recipe is complete. Do not flatten 12 hours, 1 day and longer recipes into one daily reset.

Processing Guide →

Storage

Review materials needed for tomorrow's goal. This page does not impose a mandatory bedtime or claim that all stamina must reach zero.

Routine

Periodic Systems

These checks follow readiness or rolling intervals, not universal daily resets.

Progression priorityEvery 3 days

Check Sap Collectors when their rolling cycle completes

Three days is a rolling interval per collector, not a global calendar reset.

OptionalWhen ready

Check Fish Ponds when fish production or capacity changes

No fixed daily breeding cadence is canonical.

OptionalWhen ready

Check for visible Bird Bath drops

No fixed daily drop interval is canonical.

Weekly reset

Monday resets the gift allowance

A shop's closed weekday is not itself a weekly reset.

Normal gifts

Each relationship-enabled villager gets 2 normal gifts per game week, with the allowance resetting Monday.

Birthday exception

Birthday Gifts are separate from the normal weekly allowance and do not consume one of those slots.

Birthday calendar →

Meal Invitation planning

Completing the week's gifts early can help you check eligibility, but two gifts do not guarantee an invitation.

Friendship Guide →

Seasonal & weather opportunities

Do not let a routine hide the calendar

Use focused calendar and weather guides for events; this page only surfaces reminders.

Season end

Check whether ordinary crops can finish before the season boundary, but keep multi-season crops such as Rice separate from generic warnings.

Farming →

Weather

Rain can remove manual outdoor watering. Rain, Thunderstorm and Snow can also create different optional Midnight opportunities in Standard mode; no forecast UI is assumed.

Weather →

Events

Check upcoming festivals and contests instead of inventing a universal preparation day.

Festivals & Contests →

Safe Mode does not inherit Midnight, Fox Shrine, Machine Parts or Night Furniture routine entries. Use the Completion Roadmap for long-term cleanup rather than turning every counter into a daily obligation.

Shop planning

Use the schedule authority

The checklist consumes shared shop closure data rather than duplicating weekly hours.

FAQ

Daily routine questions

What should you do every day?

Check ready crops and products, water only outdoor crops that need manual watering, collect completed processors, review shipping settlement, and talk to villagers you are actively raising.

Do you need to water crops every day?

Not universally. Rain can water ordinary outdoor fields, Sprinklers can cover crops, and Paddy watering is a separate rule. Greenhouse watering is unresolved in the current data.

How many gifts can you give each villager per week?

Two normal gifts per character per game week, with the normal allowance resetting Monday. Birthday Gifts are separate.

How often should you check Sap Collectors?

Every 3 days per collector on a rolling interval.

Do processors need to be checked every day?

No. Processor checks are when-ready because recipes use different durations, including the 12-hour Furnace duration.

When should you use the Shipping Box?

Deposit intended shipments in the evening or whenever ready; settlement occurs the next morning.

Do you need to fish or mine every day?

No. Fishing, mining, gathering and hunting are optional goal-based activities.

Are two gifts guaranteed to trigger a Meal Invitation?

No. Two gifts and Friendship Stage 3 make the event eligible in the current model, but the trigger remains conditional.

What changes in Village in the Sunshine?

Safe Mode does not inherit Midnight, Fox Shrine, Machine Parts or Night Furniture routine entries.
