Meal Invitations & Sleepovers Guide

Meal Invitations are Friendship events, not ordinary recipes. The shared data records a broad Stage 3 eligibility rule and two normal weekly gifts; Sleepover sits behind Stage 6 and the three-event prerequisite, while exact per-character timing and event IDs remain incomplete.

Meeting known conditions makes an event eligible; it does not prove a guaranteed same-day invitation. No probability, Friendship point total, cooldown or hidden story flag is invented.

Quick Requirements

Meal Invitation vs Sleepover

The requirements come from the shared Friendship relationship model.

Meal Invitation

  • Friendship: broad minimum Stage 3.
  • Weekly gifts: 2 normal gifts this week.
  • Talk time: Unknown / not normalized.
  • Trigger: conditional; no immediate guarantee or probability.

Sleepover

  • Friendship: Stage 6.
  • Prerequisite: all three Meal Invitation event slots where canonical.
  • Weekly gifts: 2 normal gifts this week.
  • Talk time: Unknown / not normalized.

How It Works

Eligibility is not the same as an immediate trigger

Keep Friendship progression, gifts, schedules and special events as separate state checks.

1 · Build the relationship

Reach the recorded stage

Friendship has six stages, but numeric points are unknown. The broad Meal Invitation threshold is Stage 3; individual meal-stage gates are not normalized.

Open Friendship

2 · Use normal gifts

Two per week

The shared system allows one ordinary gift per character per day and two per week. Birthday Gifts are separate. Request and Helping rewards are not silently counted as gifts.

Open NPC Gifts

3 · Talk when eligible

Timing is unresolved

The repository does not publish exact 16:30 or 18:00 cutoffs. Talk while the villager is present and treat tested times as guidance, not hard-coded guarantees.

Check schedules
Monday reset: monday. A practical strategy is to give both normal gifts early in the week when possible, but Monday/Tuesday is advice—not a canonical event requirement.

Stage Reconciliation

Stage 3 broad rule vs Stage 3/4/5 secondary sequence

The repository wins when sources disagree.

Current repository rule

`meal-invitation` records minimum Friendship Stage 3, two weekly gifts, no exact talk cutoff and conditional-unknown triggering. It does not provide separate canonical records for Meal #1, #2 and #3.

Unresolved external detail

Secondary progression material suggests Meal #1 at Stage 3, #2 at Stage 4 and #3 at Stage 5, with Sleepover at Stage 6. That sequence is preserved as an audit lead, not promoted as repository fact.

Every character below is derived from the shared NPC Gift profile set. Three unresolved Meal slots and one unresolved Sleepover slot are shown without invented event or recipe IDs.

This is intentionally not reported as 42 Meal Invitations or 14 Sleepovers: the current source set has no per-character canonical event records or exact recipe-source relations.

Recipe Integration

Meal rewards must not be confused with ordinary Friendship recipes

The current recipe dataset contains villager Friendship recipes, but does not tag them as Meal Invitation rewards.

42

Ordinary villager-Friendship recipe records

These use shared `villager-friendship` unlocks and remain owned by the Cooking authority.

0

Meal-derived recipe IDs

No canonical Meal Invitation recipe relation is currently normalized.

Unknown

Recipe exclusivity

Do not claim Meal recipes are exclusive or that all 42 are required for completion.

Private Room

Room access is a separate relationship unlock

Do not make Meal Invitation completion the room-access trigger.

The shared Friendship model records general private-room access at Stage 3. Character-specific exceptions are unknown; this access is separate from Meal Invitation and Sleepover completion.

Open Map & Locations

Normal events

Friendship-stage recipes, daily conversation, birthdays, Requests and Helping Events remain separate systems.

Friendship authority

Completion

Friendship 6 may matter to relationship completion, but Sleepover and every Meal Invitation are not proven universal requirements.

Postgame availability: Unknown. Sunshine Meal Invitation support: Unknown; Sleepover support: Unknown. No alternate recipe or mode rule is invented.

Troubleshooting

Why am I not getting invited?

Check the broad Friendship stage requirement.
Confirm two ordinary gifts were given this week; Monday is the shared reset.
Do not substitute a Birthday Gift, Request or Helping reward for a normal gift without canonical evidence.
Talk while the villager is present; exact 16:30 and 18:00 cutoffs are not normalized.
Finish earlier Meal events before checking Sleepover eligibility where the shared prerequisite list applies.
Wait for conditional timing—eligibility does not prove an immediate invitation.
Check festivals, story events and schedule conflicts only as possible boundaries; no universal blocker is canonical.
Use Recipes and Friendship authorities for recipe/stage details rather than duplicating them here.

FAQ

Meal Invitation and Sleepover questions

How do Meal Invitations work?

The shared Friendship model makes Meal Invitation content conditionally eligible at Friendship Stage 3 with two normal gifts in the current week. The repository does not prove an exact cutoff or immediate trigger.

Do I need to give two gifts first?

Yes, the shared relationship rule records two ordinary gifts during the current week. This guide does not add a second gift counter.

When does the weekly gift counter reset?

Monday, according to the shared Friendship data. Birthday Gifts are separate from the normal allowance.

Are Meal Invitations random?

The trigger is conditional and not guaranteed immediately. The repository does not establish a probability, daily roll, cooldown or hidden elapsed-day formula.

Do Friendship 3, 4 and 5 unlock meals one at a time?

Secondary sources suggest Stage 3/4/5 sequencing, but current repository data only records a broad Stage 3 Meal Invitation rule. Per-meal stage gates remain unresolved.

How many Meal Invitations does each villager have?

The current repository does not normalize per-character event records. It exposes 14 eligible Friendship characters and three unresolved event slots per character, but does not claim 42 canonical events.

What is required for a Sleepover?

The shared rule records Friendship Stage 6, two normal weekly gifts and three prior Meal Invitation IDs. Per-character event IDs, timing and story/schedule gates remain unresolved.

Does Sleepover award a recipe?

No Sleepover recipe reward is supported by current canonical data.

Is Sleepover romance or marriage?

No. It is relationship-event content. Romance, dating, marriage and spouse mechanics are not established here.

Can I complete these events after the ending?

Global postgame availability and ending-specific changes are unknown in the current event records.

Do Meal Invitations work in Village in the Sunshine?

Customization is not relevant to this system. Sunshine Meal Invitation and Sleepover support, recipe differences and story gates are not canonically recorded.
