Bag & Inventory Upgrades Guide

There are two known purchasable bag upgrades. The Large Bag costs ¥1,000 and raises total carrying capacity to 20 item types; the Very Large Bag costs ¥7,000 and raises it to 30.

Capacity means item-type slots or inventory entries. It does not mean individual item quantity, stack size or Storage Box capacity.

Quick comparison

Prices are read from the shared Sazanka General Store stock record. The totals are capacity values, not added-slot amounts.

Second upgrade

Price: ¥7,000

Where: Sazanka General Store

Availability: Later bag progression at the General Store; do not treat an observed Summer 15 purchase as a universal unlock day.

How to buy

Get the Large Bag first

The Large Bag is the most affordable early carrying upgrade.

  • Visit the Sazanka General Store when the progression-based listing is available.
  • Save ¥1,000 for the one-time purchase.
  • Your total capacity becomes 20 item types. The upgrade is not “+20”; it is a new total.

The exact shop trigger is not isolated in current data, so do not rely on a fixed calendar day. Check the General Store as early progression opens new stock.

Later progression

Then watch for the Very Large Bag

The second upgrade is useful for longer collection runs, but costs substantially more.

  • Keep checking the same General Store after the first bag upgrade.
  • Budget ¥7,000 for the one-time purchase.
  • Your total capacity becomes 30 item types, an additional 10 types over the Large Bag total.

A Summer 15 purchase is directly observed in external material, but it does not prove a universal Summer 15 unlock. The exact prerequisite, season and day remain unresolved in the canonical shop record.

How capacity works

More entries, not bigger stacks

Use the inventory UI's row-switch control when the extra row is present.

Item types

The 10, 20 and 30 figures describe distinct item-type entries or slots. They are total capacity values at each tier.

Rows

Large Bag can add another inventory row. Use the row-switch control shown by your current platform and game version; do not assume a controller binding on keyboard.

What is not confirmed

No canonical stack maximum, weight system, auto-sort behavior or item-quantity multiplier is attached to these upgrades.

Keep systems separate

Bag vs Storage Boxes

Both solve inventory pressure, but in different places.

Bag upgrades increase what you carry while traveling. Storage Boxes hold items at a placed location and can support a nearby Workbench. The Storage Box Linking Shrine skill changes manual access between boxes; it does not increase bag capacity.

House renovations are also separate. A larger house or Basement is not a bag upgrade.

Where it helps

Longer collection runs

A larger bag is a convenience upgrade for almost every gathering loop.

Priority

Which upgrade should you buy?

Treat both bags as convenience purchases, not story gates.

Large Bag: high-priority early convenience

At ¥1,000, it doubles the known starting total from 10 to 20 item types. It benefits most gathering systems, but it is not mandatory for the story.

Very Large Bag: a later comfort upgrade

At ¥7,000, it adds 10 more types over the Large Bag total. Buy it when that flexibility is worth more to you than other midgame spending; this page does not claim a universal ROI ranking.

FAQ

Bag upgrade troubleshooting

These answers follow the same canonical data boundary as the comparison table.

How many item types can the Starting Bag hold?

The Starting Bag holds 10 item types or inventory slots in the current canonical progression.

How much does the Large Bag cost?

The Large Bag costs ¥1,000 at the Sazanka General Store and raises total capacity to 20 item types.

How much does the Very Large Bag cost?

The Very Large Bag costs ¥7,000 at the Sazanka General Store and raises total capacity to 30 item types.

Does the Very Large Bag unlock on Summer 15?

No fixed Summer 15 unlock day is confirmed. A Summer 15 purchase is observed, but the current canonical shop data only establishes later bag progression. Keep checking the General Store after the first upgrade.

Does a bag upgrade increase stack size?

The supported change is the number of item-type slots or inventory entries. The current data does not establish a stack-size increase, auto-sorting or a quantity multiplier.

Do bag upgrades increase Storage Box capacity?

No. Bag upgrades expand what you carry. Storage Boxes are a separate placed-storage system, and linked storage is a separate Shrine skill.

Are bag upgrades required for the story?

No. They are convenience upgrades. The Large Bag is a strong early quality-of-life purchase, while the Very Large Bag is a more expensive later convenience choice.
