Midnight Anomaly Guide

Village in the Shade Yuki-onna Guide

Yuki-onna (雪女) is a snowy-weather Midnight puzzle, not a direct combat encounter. You begin while carrying a baby (赤子), find the active grave from 3 possible locations, and place the baby in front of it. Putting the baby down makes scouting easier but triggers a female ghost chase.

English anomaly and item names currently follow the site's Japanese-release terminology and may be updated after the official English localization can be verified on October 27, 2026.

Do Not Fight Yuki-onna

This is a grave-search puzzle. The encounter ends by bringing the baby to the correct grave, not by defeating Yuki-onna with a weapon. The female ghost is a pursuit hazard; no HP, damage value or required kill is documented here.

Encounter flow

How to clear the snowy Midnight grave puzzle

01

Confirm Snow + Midnight

The documented gate is snowy weather during Midnight. Snow enables the event; it is not published here as a Winter-only guarantee.

02

Choose your carry route

Keeping the baby avoids the female ghost chase but slows movement and blocks normal ground-item pickup.

03

Check the three grave areas

The active grave is not fixed. Search the three map-marker areas below and look for the grave interaction rather than a combat target.

04

Scout only if needed

Put the baby down only when the slower carry state makes searching impractical. A female ghost then begins pursuing you.

05

Leave and re-enter

Once the grave is identified, leave the village and re-enter. The documented reset route restores the baby-carrying start state.

06

Place the baby

Carry the baby to the active grave and place it in front of the grave. That completes the encounter; nearby baby-like anomaly creatures disappear.

Where is the grave?

Check the three possible grave locations

AppMedia's location map confirms three village markers. The current repository has no stable location-ID dataset or coordinate system, so these are map-relative landmarks rather than invented coordinates or official English place names.

Candidate 1

North-central village road

Use the road north of the 樹木建設 area as the first sweep.

Candidate 2

Central clinic-side road

Check the central road west / north-west of くすのき診療所.

Candidate 3

South-east village road

Check the lower road south-east of くすのき診療所, toward the southern village buildings.

Important: the three markers identify candidate areas, not a permanent grave coordinate. The active grave is selected for the encounter, and no exact visual cue beyond finding the grave interaction is asserted.

Keep carrying or scout first?

Safer

Keep carrying

No drop-triggered chase, but slower movement.

Faster search

Put baby down

Normal movement for scouting, with pursuit.

Fast finish

Scout + reset

Re-enter holding the baby again.

What happens if you put the baby down?

A female ghost (女幽霊) begins chasing you. This is not documented as instant failure and it is not a reason to fight the ghost. Use the time to identify the active grave, then leave the village and re-enter to restore the carry state.

Exact speed, contact damage, direct defeat method and pickup-again behavior remain open research questions.

The village reset trick

1

Put baby down

Only if you need to scout faster.

2

Find the grave

Identify which candidate is active.

3

Leave village

Exit the village area.

4

Re-enter

Start again holding the baby and head to the known grave.

The Japanese guide advice and the canonical anomaly note support this practical reset route. They do not establish a separate save reload, sleep, new-snow-day or permanent-random-seed rule, so none is claimed here.

Verified Yuki-onna rewards

雪だるま

Snowman — listed as Yuki-onna-linked Night Furniture. Guarantee and duplicate behavior are not verified.

雪うさぎ

Snow Rabbit — listed as Yuki-onna-linked Night Furniture. A separate gameplay report observed this reward, but this page does not claim it is the only or guaranteed outcome.

These are verified associations, not a complete loot table. Use the Night Furniture guide for the broader Catalog relationship.

No Yuki-onna wooden plaque

The current five documented Ghost Shelf plaque targets are 達磨, 手の目, 百目, 天狗 and 野槌. No 雪女の木札 is currently documented, and no plaque is required for this encounter.

Why cannot I clear Yuki-onna?

The weather is not Snow or the event is not active this Midnight.
You are treating Snow as a guaranteed Winter-only trigger.
You are searching only one grave area even though there are three candidates.
You are trying to fight Yuki-onna or the female ghost instead of solving the delivery puzzle.
You put the baby down, found the grave, then forgot to use the village reset route.
You reached the correct area but did not place the baby in front of the active grave.
You expect exact speed, damage, reward odds or 05:00 behavior that is not currently documented.

Yuki-onna questions

When does Yuki-onna appear?

Yuki-onna can appear during Midnight under snowy weather conditions. Do not treat every Winter Midnight as a guaranteed Yuki-onna encounter.

How do I beat Yuki-onna?

Find the active grave from the three possible locations, carry the baby there and place the baby in front of the correct grave. This is a delivery puzzle, not a direct combat encounter.

Where is the Yuki-onna grave?

The grave is not fixed. One of three candidate village locations is active for the encounter. Use the three map-marker areas in the grave section rather than searching one permanent coordinate.

Why am I moving slowly?

Carrying the baby reduces movement speed during the encounter.

Why cannot I pick up items?

Normal ground-item pickup is disabled while you are carrying the baby. This does not mean every encounter interaction is disabled.

What happens if I put the baby down?

A female ghost (女幽霊) begins pursuing you. Putting the baby down is not instant failure, so it can be used for a deliberate scouting route.

Can I search for the grave without carrying the baby?

Yes. The documented scouting route puts the baby down, searches the three candidate areas and then leaves and re-enters the village. The female ghost pursuit is the tradeoff.

What is the Yuki-onna reset trick?

After identifying the grave, leave the village and re-enter. The documented route starts you with the baby again so you can head directly toward the grave you found. Exact save-reload or sleep behavior is not claimed.

How many grave locations are there?

Three possible locations are documented for the active grave.

What rewards are associated with Yuki-onna?

Current sources associate the encounter with Night Furniture including 雪だるま and 雪うさぎ. The complete pool, guarantee status and duplicate rules are not independently established.

Does Yuki-onna have a Ghost Shelf plaque?

No Yuki-onna plaque is currently documented among the five known Ghost Shelf wooden plaques.

Which Lost Books are related?

The canonical related records are No.30 口伝「真白き女」 and No.44 雪夜の女と赤子. Their relation does not automatically make either book a Snow-only spawn.
