Midnight Anomaly Guide
Village in the Shade Fujin & Raijin Guide
Do not chase Fujin and Raijin as direct combat targets. During this Thunderstorm Midnight anomaly, clear their color-linked minions around the village instead. Fujin's wind phase is the safer time to keep searching, while Raijin's lightning phase deserves more caution.
The two deities belong together as one encounter cluster. The documented progression is the red/blue minion groups, followed by the alternating wind and lightning attack windows.
English anomaly and item names currently follow the site's Japanese-release terminology and may be updated after the official English localization can be verified on October 27, 2026.

Critical correction
The minions are the real targets
Fujin and Raijin are resolved by clearing their linked minions around the village. Do not waste the encounter trying to treat the two deities like ordinary enemies.
Encounter Route
Clear both color-linked groups
The exact minion count and each group's fixed route are not currently published, so search the village rather than relying on an invented map.
Enter the right weather
Wait for a Thunderstorm and enter Midnight. Ordinary Rain is not the documented trigger.
Identify the colors
Fujin is linked to blue minions; Raijin is linked to red minions.
Clear the groups
Search around the village and clear the linked minions. No exact count is asserted.
Resolve both sides
Continue until both color-linked groups are cleared and the encounter resolves.
Current sources do not establish whether one deity disappears immediately after its color is cleared, whether the remaining phase continues alone, or whether minions can respawn during the same encounter.
Verified Color Mapping
Which minions belong to which deity?
Use both the color and deity name; do not rely on color alone.
Red minion group
Raijin (雷神)
Raijin-linked red minions. Clearing the red group advances the Raijin side of the encounter.
Blue minion group
Fujin (風神)
Fujin-linked blue minions. Clearing the blue group advances the Fujin side of the encounter.
Alternating Attack Phases
Fujin vs. Raijin attacks
The phases should be handled differently even though they belong to one encounter.
Fujin · 風神
Wind phase
Fujin creates wind. Current Japanese guidance says the wind itself does not directly deal damage, making this the useful phase for continuing to search for remaining minions. Do not expand that into a claim that every possible hazard is harmless.
Recommended response: keep searching and clearing minions while watching the encounter state.
Raijin · 雷神
Lightning phase
Raijin uses dangerous lightning-based attacks, including lightning orbs that can form around the player. No exact orb count, radius or damage value is published.
Practical strategy: stop sprinting blindly when the phase begins, observe how the orbs form, then move through an opening.
Recommended Priority
Handle Raijin first when practical
This is a safety recommendation, not a mandatory encounter order.
Current Japanese guide advice recommends prioritizing the Raijin-linked red minions because the lightning phase creates more immediate danger than Fujin's wind phase. If the route presents a clear safe search window elsewhere, you can still adapt.
When Raijin's attack starts, pause first and read the pattern. The source does not support a universal safe spot, clockwise route, exact dodge timing or required movement direction.

Midnight Boundaries
Weather, time and plaque limits
Keep this specialist encounter separate from broader Midnight rules.
Thunderstorm only
The documented gate is Thunderstorm weather, not ordinary Rain. The Rain Whistle is not treated here as a guarantee of Thunderstorm or this encounter.
No dedicated plaque
The five known Ghost Shelf plaques cover Daruma, Tenome, Hyakume, Tengu and Nozuchi. No Fujin/Raijin plaque is currently documented.
06:00 return
The general Midnight system forces return home at 06:00. This page does not assign a special 05:00 disappearance rule to Fujin & Raijin.
