Village in the Shade has three fishing-bait tiers. Chum makes normal fishing easier, Quality Bait provides stronger temporary assistance, and White Bait helps target rare fish and Nushi. None of the current evidence supports fake catch percentages, exact durations or a guaranteed rare catch.

Two usage contexts, separate boundaries
Fishing spots and Fish Ponds share bait items, but the evidence does not establish identical effects or hidden consumption rules.
Fishing spots
Chum temporarily makes fishing easier. Quality Bait is described as stronger temporary assistance. White Bait improves the chance of rare fish, including making Nushi easier to target.
Exact duration, catch-rate modifiers, stacking and special fishing-spot compatibility are not canonical. Bait also does not replace a target fish's location, season or time.
Fish Ponds
Bait is part of the documented Fish Pond breeding operation. Use at least two fish of the same species and leave room for a possible reproduction result.
The shared Fish Pond guide owns capacities and compatibility. This page does not assign a percentage to Chum, Quality Bait or White Bait.
