Barns, Coops & Animal Housing Guide
Use this page for the building side of animal ownership: which shelter each animal uses, how capacity differs from footprint and placement limits, what the current upgrade chain says, and where automatic hay feeding begins.

Coop, Barn and Stable are different systems

Capacity, footprint and max placed are not interchangeable
A building can have a known animal capacity while its upgraded footprint or placement limit remains unknown.
| Record | Operation | Capacity | Footprint | Max placed | Cost / days |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Chicken Coop | new-construction | 8 poultry | 6×7 tiles | 4 | ¥6,500 / 4 days |
| Chicken Coop Renovation | renovation | 8 poultry | Unknown | Unknown | ¥4,000 / 3 days |
| Small Livestock Barn | new-construction | 4 large livestock animals | 12×9 tiles | 4 | ¥2,000 / 4 days |
| Livestock Barn Upgrade | renovation | 8 livestock animals | Unknown | Unknown | ¥5,000 / 3 days |
For the wider farm layout, expanded plots and all placeable structures, use the Building Placement guide. An unknown field means “not verified,” not unlimited.
Poultry Coop
New construction and renovation
The construction dataset records the public Coop as 8 poultry, 6×7 tiles and maximum 4.
- Capacity
- 8 poultry
- Footprint
- 6×7 tiles
- Max placed
- 4
- New build
- ¥6,500 · 4 days
Renovation: ¥4,000 · 3 days · material quantities 120 / 30 / 10. Material labels are shown only when the construction dataset supports them; icon quantities are not converted into guessed names.
Large Livestock Barn
Starter Barn versus upgraded Barn
Keep large-animal housing independent from poultry capacity.
- Starter capacity
- 4 large livestock animals
- Starter footprint
- 12×9 tiles
- Starter max
- 4
- Upgraded capacity
- 8 livestock animals
The upgraded Barn's footprint, max placed, renovation cost and exact materials are not treated as confirmed here.

Automation
Large Barn + Hopper boundary
The current documented automation claim is deliberately narrow.
Large Livestock Barn automation is tied to a Hopper for automatic hay feeding.
Hopper capacity, refill threshold, silo transfer rule and exact placement data are not verified.
Fodder support
Silo is storage, not a Barn upgrade
Silo capacity and animal capacity are separate fields.
The canonical Silo record lists fodder capacity 999. This page does not infer Hopper storage size, automatic refill thresholds or a universal feed transfer rule from that number.

New construction, renovation and relocation are different
Ask the right question at Kisuke's construction service.
New Construction
Creates a new housing building and owns its new-build cost, materials, footprint, capacity and maxPlaced values.
Renovation
Changes an existing housing building. Renovation values must not be copied into a base-building record.
Relocation / Removal
Construction-service handling is documented for some records, but fees, refunds, timing and animal-transfer behavior remain unknown.
Animal transfer, feed transfer, product retention, demolition refund, relocation fee and downtime are intentionally unresolved. Do not promise that a renovation or move is lossless until the current version confirms it.
FAQ
Housing questions
How many animals fit in the Chicken Coop?
The current construction record lists 8 poultry, a 6×7 footprint and a maximum of 4 Coops. The source naming conflict between base construction and renovation remains visible.
How many animals fit in the Small Livestock Barn?
The canonical record lists 4 large-livestock animals, a 12×9 footprint and a maximum of 4. The upgraded record lists capacity 8; its upgraded footprint and maximum are unresolved.
Does the Large Barn feed animals automatically?
The documented automation boundary ties automatic hay feeding to the Large Livestock Barn through a Hopper. Hopper capacity, refill behavior and transfer rules are not independently verified.
Does a Coop get automatic feeding, a Heater or an Auto Collector?
Not confirmed in the current repository. Do not transfer the Barn/Hopper automation claim to the Coop.
Can I move a Barn or Coop?
Some construction records document construction-service relocation or removal handling. Exact cost, refund, timing and animal-transfer behavior are not generalized.
Does renovating transfer the animals and products?
The renovation operation is documented, but exact animal, feed, product and placed-object transfer behavior remains unresolved.
