Midnight Encounter Guide
Village in the Shade Tamatebako Guide
Tamatebako (玉手箱) is a Midnight encounter that can appear at several known candidate locations around the village and outskirts. Its actual location is random, it runs away when approached, and breaking it can reward items such as hairstyles and blueprints.
More than one Tamatebako can appear during the same Midnight session.
English system and item terminology currently follows the site's Japanese-release terminology and may be updated after the official English localization can be verified on October 27, 2026.

Spawn and Chase
Why does Tamatebako run away?
The movement is part of the encounter, not a sign that the search failed.
- Check candidate areas while Midnight exploration is active.
- Approach when you find Tamatebako, but expect it to flee.
- Keep it in sight and continue the chase.
- Attack during a safe opening until it breaks and releases its reward.

Catalog Context
Useful for collection cleanup
Keep the relationship cautious.
Tamatebako rewards include collectible hairstyles and blueprints, so they may matter when you are closing late collection gaps. The current canonical data does not prove that every reward is a Catalog entry or define a separate Tamatebako achievement.
